“It’s always great fun to see a group poke fun at the inspiration that feeds it. And the U.S. company inFluxdance did just that in the highly-entertaining piece Identity Crisis. Mixing taped narration and dance, we learn a little bit about the beginnings of modern dance, very tongue in cheek, and we learn about the psychological study of identity. Dancers Rose Pasquarello Beauchamp and Alysia Woodruff then riff on the themes. They are fun, skilled and never, no never, take themselves too seriously. The narration about the sometimes overblown intricacies of the art is hilarious – especially for dance critics who have seen their fair share of overblown post-modern dance.” –Katheryn Greenway, The Gazette, Montreal.
Brought to you by the twisted yet charming choreographers/dancers/teachers/subversives who brought you Montreal’s (and perhaps the world’s) first ever modern dance food fight, Spirit of the Fringe Montreal ’06, Best Dance Performance San Francisco Fringe ’07, along with…well you will just have to wait and see.
Come join us in Identity Crisis, a delicious piece of dance insanity, or let yourself wither away in solitude, shame and finally, despair.
